About Me
Jason Ptaszek is a full-spectrum production artist—part cinematographer, part motion control operator, part editor, and part motion designer. Over the past decade, he’s carved out a multidisciplinary career across film, animation, and branded content, working on everything from Oscar-winning stop motion features to high-performance digital ads.
As a Camera Assistant on Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, Jason helped bring the film’s visuals to life using advanced motion control systems, photographic techniques, an eye for detail, and a sharp focus. In addition he had the privilege of capturing the behind-the-scenes time-lapse animations for the film, and a select group of time-lapse’s have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the Portland Art Museum, and the Academy Museum in LA.
As a freelancer, Jason has worked as Director of Photography and camera operator for campaigns with Nike, Jumpman, HOKA, MLB, and Levi’s. In the edit bay, he’s built motion graphics-driven content, eComm campaigns, and social-first video for clients like Netflix, NBC Universal, Lovevery, and Wieden+Kennedy. Whether managing lighting design, animating typography, or building post-production workflows, he thrives on turning complexity into clean, beautiful storytelling with a hit of magic.
In his downtime, Jason likes to get his hands dirty—whether in the garden, with a bubbling jar of fermentation, or out in the middle of no where climbing rocks and staring at the stars.
Let's work together.
